TEQUILA

ABOUT FRIDA KAHLO TEQUILA
First there was the art, now there is the tequila. The heirs of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo launched a line of high-end spirits using the name and likeness of the style icon. “Tequila was her favorite drink, and she drank a lot of it,” said Mara Romeo Pinedo Kahlo, a grand-niece who was an infant when Kahlo died in 1954.
A grand passion for life inspires the spirit that bears Frida Kahlo’s name. Capturing the tastes and traditions of Mexico, Frida Kahlo Tequila is an authentic tequila of outstanding quality and flavor made from 100 percent blue agave. The pina (heart of the agave) is slow-cooked in antique adobe ovens, steamed and cooled to remove bitterness, then pressed no more than three times to extract the best juices. Naturally fermented for up to four days, the juices are double-distilled in antique copper stills. The result is a smooth, super-premium spirit. The AÒejo is aged after fermentation in American Oak casks for at least three years before bottling. The result is exquisitely smooth, super-premium tequila that, like a fine cognac, is meant to be sipped and savored.
